So this morning I got Drew out of his sleeper and noticed this rash all over his chest. It doesn't seem to bother him and he isn't itching either. He had avocados for the third day the night before. No new soaps, clothes, etc. I am hoping that the rash is not from the avocados though, because Drew really loves them. The rash stops at his diaper line, which also makes me think it is not a food allergy.
Game Plan:
I am going to stop giving him food, except for cereal for the next few days and until the rash goes away completely. Than, I am going to re-introduce avocados again for four days. If he breaks out in a rash again, it will be pretty safe to say that Drew is allergic to avocados. Cross your fingers for us.
OOOOO NO! That is terrible! I will be interested to see if it comes back. It may just be a coincidence- at least I hope. Good plan for figuring it out though. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteHmm... We just introduced avocados to our son, too and he woke up yesterday with a rash all over his torso. He had his 6 month check up yesterday and the doctor thinks that it is a heat rash (we're having a heat wave). But I am concerned that it could be an allergy as well. We plan on avoiding avocado for a while, too and then trying it again. Hopefully it's not an allergy for either babe.
ReplyDeleteTake care.

Gave baby avocados three days in a row, third day nasty rash all over body. No other diet changes. His is itchy though. I thought avocados were on the least likely allergy list. Baby does have mild eczema issues. He is 7 months old
